We are pleased to announce Rabbi Andrew Bentley as our permanent Rabbi.

Rabbi Bentley has been a resident of the Coachella Valley since 1998.  Originally from London, he emigrated to Israel with his family in 1990, where he attended Bar Ilan University and Ohr Torah Stone Institutions under prominent American/Israeli Rabbi Shlomo Riskin.

After receiving his Orthodox ordination, Rabbi Bentley moved to Palm Springs as the head Rabbi of Desert Synagogue.  In addition to being their spiritual leader, he enjoyed teaching a variety of classes in topics ranging from traditional Torah studies and Jewish philosophy as applied to the modern age, to Kabbalah as well as informal educational programming involving music and the media.

A lifelong musician, Rabbi Bentley decided to change his career path and study music.  This also coincided with his decision to leave Orthodoxy and explore Judaism in a more progressive way.  For the past 14 years, he has worked as a professional musician and music producer, while also working as a consultant to Temple Isaiah, reading Torah.

Rabbi Bentley enjoys composing both secular and Jewish music and has performed his modern rendition of  "Adonai Sfa'tai" at Temple Sinai's well attended Zimra Shabbat Service.

Rabbi Bentley lives in Palm Desert with his wife Beth.  They have four wonderful children, ranging in age from 11 to 19 years old.
